Applicants for Vacant School Board Seat
Posted December 5, 2024The Ames Community School District is pleased to announce the candidates who have applied to fill the vacant school board seat left by William “Scott” Dryer. The vacancy was created following Mr. Dryer’s recent departure from the board.
Six community members have submitted applications for consideration:
- Jan Dreesman
- Cynthia Oppedal Paschen
- Aaron Rodriguez
- Eric Smidt
- Angela Tuttle Prince
The applicants represent a diverse group of community members with varying backgrounds and experiences, all committed to serving the students, families, and staff of the Ames Community School District.
The School Board will interview candidates during the school board meeting on Monday, December 9, 2024 at 5:30 pm. The successful candidate will serve on the board until the next regular school board election in 2025.
The Ames Community School District invites community members to stay informed about this process. The public is encouraged to attend the upcoming meeting and participate in the process of shaping the leadership of the district.
The newly appointed school board member will be sworn in at a special meeting on Monday, December 16, 2024.
