Ian Spry becomes bowling program’s first state qualifier

Ian Spry rolled a three-game 663 series to place eighth individually at the Cedar Falls District State Qualifying Meet. The top eight individuals advance to the IHSAA State Individual Bowling Championship, held at Cadillac XBC in Waterloo on Tuesday, February 20th.

Spry is the first player in the two-year history of the bowling program to qualify for the state tournament. Spry had averaged a 184 during the regular season, but peaked at the best time to produce a three-game line of 205-235-223.

The boys program finished the regular season 9-4 overall after an 0-3 start to the campaign. The Little Cyclones finished third at the Iowa Alliance Conference Championships before a fifth-place finish at the State Qualifying Meet.
