Posted April 18, 2023

After holding to a close result to No. 1 Dowling Catholic and topping No. 11 Linn-Mar by a four-goal margin over the weekend, Ames boys soccer propelled from unranked to No. 9 in the latest Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings – which utilizes the Bound power rankings system to determine the order of the top 16 teams in each class. The No. 9 spot represents the highest ranking for the Ames boys soccer program since 2018.

The Little Cyclones joined four other Iowa Alliance Conference teams in the top 16 this week. Des Moines Hoover remained the top-ranked 3A club while No. 5 Des Moines East, No. 15 Ottumwa, and No. 16 Des Moines Roosevelt rounded out the ranked league opponents in the 4A top-16.
