Boys swim wins inaugural IAC title
Posted January 24, 2023Ames won the Iowa Alliance Conference title Saturday at Fort Dodge in the conference’s first year of competition. The Little Cyclones won all 11 events against their IAC-North Division counterparts and recorded the best time in 10 of 11 events in the combined standings. Joshua Chen, Josh Fisher, and Evan Feilmeyer each maxed out the day with four total titles (two relay/two individual).

- 200 Medley Relay: Evan Feilmeyer, Joshua Chen, Ian McCorkle, Tristan Day (1st/1st – 1:37.74)
- 200 Freestyle: Josh Fisher (1st/1st – 1:44.04)
- 200 Individual Medley: Joshua Chen (1st/1st – 1:59.06)
- 50 Freestyle: Evan Feilmeyer (1st/1st – 22.55)
- 100 Butterfly: Ian McCorkle (1st/1st – 53.27)
- 100 Freestyle: Tristan Day (1st/2nd – 50.09)
- 500 Freestyle: Josh Fisher (1st/1st – 4:47.17)
- 200 Freestyle Relay: Joshua Chen, Tristan Day, Chris Fisher, Josh Fisher (1st/1st – 1:30.88)
- 100 Backstroke: Evan Feilmeyer (1st/1st – 55.57)
- 100 Breaststroke: Joshua Chen (1st/1st – 59.87)
- 400 Freestyle Relay: Evan Feilmeyer, Chris Fisher, Ian McCorkle, Josh Fisher (1st/1st – 3:22.14)
The Little Cyclones will next host an IHSAA District Swim Meet on Saturday, February 4th. Ames will host Ankeny, Des Moines Hoover/North, Des Moines Lincoln, Grinnell, Indianola, Marshalltown, and Mason City to determine qualification to the 2023 IHSAA State Boys Swimming Championships, February 10-11 at the University of Iowa Rec and Wellness Center in Iowa City.
