About Girls Tennis
John Hernandez will transition to the sole lead of the Ames High girls tennis program for the 2024 campaign. For the past three seasons, Hernandez oversaw the boys program and coach the doubles pairs of Rob Arbuckle/Tharun Raju (2021) and Anson Bernard/Tharun Raju (2023) to state tournament doubles appearances. The girls in 2023 finished with an 11-2 match record – highlighted by a 9-0 mark in Iowa Alliance Conference play and victory over No. 10 Waukee in a postseason regional final match.
